A keyboard sees everything you write, so the questions people ask about one are mostly about trust. These are the answers, including the ones that are no.
Privacy and permissions
Does iKeyboard record what I type?
No. Keystrokes, messages, passwords and search queries are never recorded, stored, transmitted or sold. They do not leave your device — with Full Access granted or not.
Then why does it ask for Full Access?
iOS gives a keyboard extension no network access at all until Full Access is granted, and translation needs the network. That is what it is used for. The layout, autocorrect, word suggestions and themes all work without it, so you can decline and still use the keyboard.
What is kept on my device?
A personal dictionary and typing history, used to improve your suggestions and autocorrect. It stays on the device and you can clear it from the keyboard settings or by deleting the app.
Are there ads?
The app shows ads via Google AdMob. Ad networks may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads; you can limit that in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Ads never have access to what you type.
What it does
Is it free?
Yes, the keyboard is free — the Kurdish layout, autocorrect, suggestions and themes included.
Does translation work in WhatsApp and iMessage?
It works in any app with a text field, because it is a keyboard rather than a separate app — Messages, WhatsApp, Instagram, Mail, Notes and the rest.
Does it work offline?
Everything except translation. The layout, autocorrect, suggestions and themes need no connection at all; translation does.
Is there Kurdish voice typing?
No. Dictation on iOS is Apple’s own feature and Apple does not offer Kurdish, which no third-party keyboard can change.
Devices
Does it work on iPad?
Yes — the same app, the same layout and the same translation. Note that a connected hardware keyboard uses iOS’s own layout setting, not a third-party keyboard’s.
Is there an Android version?
There is an Android build, distributed through the project’s Telegram channel while a Play Store listing is in progress. The download sheet on this site links to it.
How do I remove the keyboard?
Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards, swipe the iKeyboard row and delete it. Deleting the app removes the keyboard and everything stored on the device with it.
